Terms of Service.
Effective 31 August 2026 · Last updated 7 October 2026
The short version. This is one person's hobby homelab, offered as-is, for free, with no guarantees. Most of it is private. Be decent on the parts you are invited to, don't try to break in, and understand that anything here may change or disappear without notice.
1. Who these terms are between
These terms govern your use of caboose-ai.io and its subdomains ("the services"), operated by an individual in Rochester, New York ("the operator"). By accessing the services you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the services.
2. What this is
The services are a personal, non-commercial hobby project running on hardware the operator owns. Nothing is sold, no payment is accepted, and no commercial relationship is created. Most subdomains are private tools protected by passwords; only the landing page and bōba shows, which are watched through a link the operator hands out, are meant for anyone else. The invited Minecraft and Palworld game servers are retired for now; the terms below that mention them apply if and when they run again.
bōba shows are written live by third-party AI language models and are not reviewed before you see them. They are entertainment, not the operator's views, and they may be crude or offensive. Each show carries a content rating; a show rated above PG-13 is for adults only, and by continuing past its warning you confirm that you are 18 or older.
3. Access and acceptable use
You may view the public landing page freely. Private services are restricted to the operator and to people explicitly invited. You agree not to:
- attempt to access any account, service, or data you have not been given access to, including guessing or brute-forcing credentials;
- scan, probe, or test the security of the services without written permission;
- interfere with or overload the services, or attempt to disrupt their availability;
- use the services to store or distribute unlawful content, or to harass anyone;
- cheat, grief, or harass other players on the game servers, when they are running.
The operator may suspend or ban access at any time, for any reason, without notice, particularly on the game servers (retired for now), where moderation is entirely at the operator's discretion.
4. Availability
There is no uptime commitment. The services run on a single machine on a residential internet connection and may go offline for maintenance, power loss, hardware failure, or no reason at all. Features may be changed or removed, and services may be retired permanently, without notice.
5. Your content and data
Content uploaded to private tools remains the property of whoever created it; the operator claims no ownership of it and does not use it for any purpose beyond running the service. Game server worlds, saves, and logs are administered by the operator, including while the servers are retired.
Keep your own backups. No guarantee is made that any data (uploaded files, rendered videos, game worlds, or progress) will be preserved. Data may be deleted at any time, including by accident.
6. Third-party services
Traffic is carried through Cloudflare, and the optional publishing feature interacts with Google and YouTube. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms. Publishing anything to YouTube is subject to YouTube's Terms of Service.
7. No warranty
The services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. You use them at your own risk.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the services. Because the services are provided free of charge, the operator's total liability for any claim is limited to zero dollars (US$0.00).
9. Termination
Access may be terminated at any time. You may stop using the services at any time. The sections on content, warranty, and liability survive termination.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
11. Changes
These terms may be updated as the services change. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms. The effective date above will reflect the latest version.
